Bloodstock

Katie Carville along with her stepson Adam and brother inlaw Barry started up ICE Bloodstock so that they could fight for better services from the airlines – by providing it themselves. Katie felt that since International Cargo Express was already one of the largest freight-forwarding companies in New Zealand, by combining horses with what was already in place would result in more airline services in and out of the South Island.

After all, the trios sole aim is to give customers a choice - and provide a better, more regular, more reliable and more cost-effective horse transport service.

ICE Bloodstock already has weekly flights up and running between the major ports of Christchurch-Sydney, Auckland-Sydney and Auckland-Melbourne, and they’re pushing hard so that Christchurch-Melbourne can go on the ‘menu’ soon as well.

Something the company is proud of is the fact that they were instrumental in ensuring last year’s NZ Trotting Cup at Addington turned out to be a true clash of Australasia’s best pacers, because no less than four of Aussie’s top horses made the journey with them – and then they all flew back home three days later to compete in the Miracle Mile, something that never would’ve been possible if it wasn’t for ICE Bloodstock, and the doors of opportunity they’re opening for horse owners and trainers on both sides of the Tasman.

Last year’s flight of NZ Cup horses to Christchurch was ICE Bloodstock’s inaugural service, and they haven’t looked back ever since!
